From the same studio behind Immersive Van Gogh, the exhibit uses 50 digital projectors to bring some of the most memorable Disney Animation moments to life on the walls, floors and ceiling of the 500,000-cubic-foot gallery at the Lighthouse ArtSpace at E. 72nd St. and St. Clair. The 60 to 90-minute walk-through experience begins with a museum-quality exhibit that takes visitors through the animation process.
Once inside the gallery, visitors are surrounded by clips, montages and musical numbers from too many films to count, from “The Lion King” and “The Little Mermaid” to “Fantasia” and “Frozen,” and everything in between. Some moments feature bubbles, interactive lighting and even snow. “There’s such an emotional connection for people with the Disney characters that it really makes for an impactful, immersive show,” Lighthouse Immersive founder Corey RossEvery visit, of course, ends with a trip to the huge gift shop.
