Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Judge Leslie Ann Celebrezze failed to disclose a romantic relationship with a mediator who in one case earned more than $400,000 in payments from her court, according to the Ohio Disciplinary Counsel.CLEVELAND, Ohio —
Repeated attempts by Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer to reach Celebrezze and Dottore were unsuccessful. Celebrezze’s attorney, Monica Sansalone, also could not be reached. It initially was assigned to Judge Tonya Jones, but she recused herself after her staff lawyer went to work for an attorney in the case. Instead of randomly assigning the matter, Celebrezze, the administrative judge at the time, took it herself, according to the disciplinary counsel’s charges.
After a dinner in Independence, Celebrezze and Dottore “kissed each other on the lips,” the charges say. She stressed that her friendship with Dottore did not factor into her work as a judge on the case, according to the documents.
