As independent media outlets in Russia are closed or forced into exile, a new digital archive aims to preserve their records

A digital archive of journalism produced by independent Russian news outlets over the past 20 years launched Tuesday under a partnership between PEN America, a nonprofit that advocates for free expression, and Bard College., which includes work from 13 news outlets and hopes to eventually include more than 70.Catch up on the headlines, understand the news and make better decisions, free in your inbox every day.
