The 49ers might be motivated to trade either Samuel or Aiyuk due to their incoming salary cap issues. San Francisco is projected to be nearly $24 million over the salary cap in 2025, and that's without needed contract extensions for Aiyuk and quarterback Brock Purdy, among others. Samuel, who held out during the offseason in 2022 in search of a new contract, appears unbothered by the trade rumors and is content in the Bay Area.
