From the youngest to the oldest, delegates at the Democratic National Convention are excited for the possibility of Vice President Kamala Harris making history as the first Black woman elected president in the United States.
At Dothan City Board of Education ’s August meeting, Dothan City Schools recognized Beverlye Intermediate School’s Assistant Principal, Matt Smith as the August Employee of the Month.
“My favorite part about education is that there is not an end,” said Smith. “Students and educators can always build on something to make their world better than when they started.” Johnson dotes on Smith's ability to communicate effectively with their team members, which allows him to lead and model the most effective instructional, and behavioral modification practices, ultimately impacting achievement. He always interacts and communicates in a positive manner that adds to the ever-improving culture and climate at Beverlye Intermediate School.
Smith feels he has had some of the very best leaders that education can provide from his first principal, Todd Weeks, all the way up to his latest principal, Johnson. He’s made a ton of influential friends along the way that continue to mold students in the classroom and he learns from them everyday.
