DC’s new Batman movie, The Brave and the Bold, strongly suggests that Robert Pattinson’s The Batman story will not incorporate a major part of Batman’s mythos. As much as it makes sense for the new DC Universe to feature its own Batman, having two different Batman franchises happening concurrently is a surprising, never-before-seen scenario.
The Brave & The Bold May Prevent The Batman From Using Bat-Family Members The fact that The Brave and the Bold’s biggest selling point so far is the debut of Damian Wayne as Robin as well as the arrival of the Bat-Family suggests that Batman’s legacy characters will be front and center in this new adaptation. Except for Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, the latter of which also featured an original version of Batgirl, Batman movies have never explored the Robins and the Bat-Family.
Could Nightwing Appear In The Batman 2 Or 3 Without Hurting The DCU? In terms of the story, there is room for at least one of Batman’s sidekicks to appear in The Batman 2 or 3. If Damian Wayne is Robin in The Brave and the Bold, that means Dick Grayson, the first Robin, is most likely Nightwing already in this new DC Universe. Therefore, neither The Brave and the Bold nor future DC Universe Batman movies will get to show Grayson's time as Robin – unless a flashback is involved.
