In one of the Justice League's darkest futures, readers were introduced to Sahar Shaheen, a Shazam hero with blades that make her DC's Wolverine.
The darkest future timeline in DC Comics actually saw the iconically positive Shazam become the Justice League's very own Wolverine. Shazam has been one of DC's most famous properties for generations, a lightning-powered superhuman who holds the abilities of numerous gods and is one of the most powerful beings in the Justice League. He's become fairly popular in recent years not only because of his DCEU appearances, but because of his positive nature.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Justice League: Generation Lost is a series that ran from 2010 to 2011 and focuses on the Justice League tracking down Maxwell Lord following his resurrection. During this run, readers are given a glimpse into a nightmarish post-apocalyptic future where destruction is everywhere and a darker incarnation of the Justice League is doing its best to keep the peace...at least, what's left of it.
These swords are an incredibly cool new look for the traditionally positive Shazam, but they also show just how the hero can change should new situations arise. Fans know Shazam to be a character who tends to be more on the goofy side, especially since his most well-known secret identity is a child doing his best to blend in among adult heroes like Superman and Batman.
Regardless of this change in the portrayal of Shazam's attitude to mirror her new apocalyptic surroundings, the blades that go with this variant of the character are undoubtedly cool. They not only give her an extra layer of danger that makes her a threat to post-apocalypse baddies, but they also give her a sense of identity that separates her from other Shazam characters like Billy Batson.
