There were eight wrestlers from Penn State competing to be on Team USA.

It has been an eventful few days for the athletes competing in the USA Wrestling Olympic Trials at the Bryce Jordan Center. The Olympic Regional Training Center is represented in five out of the six men’s freestyle finals.Three of those matchups are between Nittany Lion Wrestling Club teammates, including the best-of-three men’s freestyle matchup between Nick Lee and Zian Retherford at 65 kilograms.

In that matchup, Retherford won the first and second rounds, making him the winner of the Olympic Trials at 65 kilograms.Another matchup between team Penn State Olympic Training Center Teammates saw four-time national champion Aaron Brooks beat Olympic legend David Taylor in round one of their best of 3 men’s freestyle at 86 kilograms.Those two wrestlers will compete again Saturday night.These sessions only have one mat, compared to four in every other session over the last two days.
