The former New York governor was attacked Friday evening while on a walk with his stepson.
Two boys under the age of 18 have been arrested in connection to an assault that occurred on Friday night against former New York Governor David Paterson and his 20-year-old stepson, according to the New York City Police Department .The NYPD said at a press conference Saturday that Paterson, 70, and his stepson, Anthony Sliwa, were walking in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan around 8:30 p.m. Friday when a group of people attacked them.
'At a press conference on Saturday, Paterson said that Sliwa had spotted some of the attackers attempting to climb a fire escape on Second Avenue while walking the family dog on Friday. Sliwa yelled at the group to 'come down or he was going to call the cops,' according to Paterson. Sliwa 'got into it with one' person in the group but the former governor said 'that was kind of the end of it.
