Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke to reporters about the killing of David Amess after the member of parliament was stabbed at a church Friday. Johnson called Amess “one of the kindest, nicest, most gentle people in politics.” Read more:
Amess, who was 69, was treated at the scene for his injuries before being declared dead.
Carrie Johnson, the Prime Minister's wife, tweeted:"Absolutely devastating news about Sir David Amess. "Love and prayers for the family of Sir David Amess MP this afternoon. Just devastating. Funny, wise, compassionate, and such a good friend to so many of us," Tory MP for Preseli Pembrokeshire tweeted.
