Kayla Menne, 25, of Middletown, faces more than a dozen assault charges in connection with the incident. The couple who live in the home are fostering four children, one of whom is Menne’s biological child that the couple intends to adopt, according to the criminal complaint. An off-duty McKees Rocks police officer was in the area and hear the gunshots. He took Menne into custody after the witness she had fired shots at punched her in the face, authorities said. He said she kept repeating, “They took my baby.”police arrived, Menne was handcuffed and facedown in the yard outside the foster family’s home, according to the complaint. She allegedly told officers to “please just arrest me, I will not be violent.
