“Regret afterwards does not change her proven intent at the time the murder was committed,” she said. In an exchange at the beginning of her cross-examination of Negroponte, Fenton sought to suss out if Negroponte didn’t remember what happened, remembered stabbing Rasmussen by accident, or remembered something more incriminating.
“We’re very disappointed, but the jury obviously made its decision,” John Negroponte said after the verdict.
