Houston looks to get back on winning side against Chicago in part of the NWSL's in-season...
Cameron Tucker , celebrating a goal in a friendly against the Mexican national team last month, will be counted on for offense against Chicago on Wednesday. The Dash's recent loss carries an asterisk — one that put an end to the best start in club history.
The Dash were outshot 7-0 at the time of the goal, a start that first-year coach Sam Laity said was unacceptable. The Dash will attempt to improve their performance against the Chicago Red Stars at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Shell Energy Stadium. The game is part of the UKG Challenge Cup, an in-season tournament among NWSL teams. The Dash’s best chance at finding the back of the net will come from a trio of forwards in Diana Ordóñez, Cameron Tucker and María Sánchez, who scored a combined four goals in three earlier matches.
Houston is scoreless since then — having fallen to Kansas City to open the league cup on April 19 and drawing Washington in regular-season play on April 22 before suffering the weather-shortened loss to North Carolina.
