Dallas' Woodbine Development Corp. was founded 50 years ago and developed the landmark Reunion Tower and Hyatt Regency Dallas hotel.
Ray Hunt and John Scovell showed a mock-up of their planned hotel complex in 1973.
“Had we been older, wiser, smarter, the Reunion project wouldn’t exist,” Scovell said in a statement. “Youth was a big advantage, as was having a partner like Ray Hunt and the absolute trust he put in me and our team.” Scovell in 2016 moved from day-to-day running of the company to become chairman. His sons and King Scovell and Dupree Scovell are Woodbine Development’s managing partners.
