The Women in Restaurants Leadership program is an eight-week, tuition-free course will be open to anyone wishing to advance in the restaurant industry.
The eight-week tuition-free program will be open to anyone looking to advance in the restaurant industry., and its executive chef, Terance Jenkins. It will be a free eight-week program that will offer seminars, training, and stagiaire opportunities to participants.. Carpenter also owns Zen Sushi in Bishop Arts.
“This program is not only impactful for students who are trying to better their lives, but it can also advance the industry in Dallas by producing better-qualified professionals,” Carpenter said in the release. “This program is designed to help students overcome obstacles in the workplace and make better decisions.”
The effort will connect students with mentors and role models who will support the students as they build their careers.“The Beatrice team knows firsthand that the independent fine dining restaurant space is probably one of the most challenging segments in the industry,” said Steve DeShazo, senior director of the Office of Workforce Initiatives at Dallas College.
Outside of the classroom, students will have stage opportunities in restaurant management at Restaurant Beatrice as well as other local restaurants like Rye, Lucia, Roots Southern Table, and those operated by Duro Hospitality Group.Interested students and community members should attend a free orientation on Monday, Nov. 14 at 3 p.m. at Restaurant Beatrice, 1111 N. Beckley Ave., in Dallas.
