Dallas’ Teichman family, for decades a staple of the North Texas retail scene, opened a new storefront for their flagship jewelry brand on Friday.
The Teichman’s French-inspired Ylang 23 brand has sold curated, designer jewelry, with prices ranging into the upper thousands, since 1985. Their new 3,200-square-foot space, accented with soft pinks, is nestled between a children’s boutique and medical spa at the Shops of Highland Park. The new store also sits close to the Dallas location of Wildlike, a piercing brand created by the daughter of Ylang 23 founders Charles and Joanne Teichman.
The new Ylang 23 interior is spacious and modern, with areas for entertaining guests. The interior was inspired by the French concept of a “jardin,” or garden, where people could congregate and converse, Alysa Teichman said. The location placement is also meant to appeal to women’s shopping sense, Alysa Teichman said.
“For women, who drive so many of their purchasing decisions on family, I love that this is a center where you can get your hair blown out, you can get a coffee at Merit, you can get your nails done,” Alysa said. “You can get a spray tan, you can go grab a bite.”at the complex that already has several dining and beauty-focused shops, including Kelly Mitchell Fine Jewelry. Renovations for the store cost over the seven figure mark, according to Ylang 23 representatives.
