Colorado State received its second transfer commitment for next season’s team on Tuesday as former Marist all-conference player Justin Menard announced his intention to join CSU on social media.
Justin Menard played at Iona for the 2024-25 season before moving on to Marist. Colorado State men’s basketball has received its second transfer commitment for next season’s team, as former Marist all-conference player Justin Menard on Tuesday announced via social media his intention to join CSU.
Menard, a 6-foot-3 guard who will be a junior next season, was a third-team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference selection after leading the Red Foxes in scoring , assists , steals , three-pointers made and free throw percentage . He was also named to the MAAC all-tournament team after averaging 17.5 points, 6.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game in the conference tournament.
Prior to his one year at Marist, Menard played at Iona during the 2024-25 season. There, he averaged 5.5 points, 1.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. He is originally from Higganum, Connecticut, and played at St. Thomas More High School. Menard is the Rams’ second transfer from Marist in as many years.
Last spring, Josh Pascarelli transferred from the school to CSU and was one of the team’s best 3-point shooters this past season. The two didn’t play together as Menard was playing his freshman season at Iona when Pascarelli was at Marist. Menard is also the second transfer portal addition so far for the Rams this spring. Earlier this month, CSU got a commitment from Division II All-American and Colorado native Amondo Miller.
Miller, a 6-foot-7 wing, was named a D-II All-American this past season at Lubbock Christian after averaging 21 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He shot 50% from the field and 36% from 3-point range and set program records for total points and average points in a season.
