Jon Johnson It was a difficult day for local golfers competing on the final day of the Raider/Eagle Invitational, won by Mountain Brook at the Dothan Country Club on Tuesday.
“Despite the distances not being too long, the short shots were killing everyone,” Crowder said. “You had to play it perfectly just to get it close and putting was really difficult with the winds and the new greens that made it a lot more bumpy. “Then today was an 18-hole, five-man and you take the best four scores out of 18 holes in medal play.”
“I played pretty solid all day, but just didn’t make a lot of putts and didn’t give myself a lot of opportunities,” Broadaway said. “The job is never done … you’ve got to go out there and find it again and keep working on it. “I’ve played it only twice since they’ve re-done it,” Broadaway said. “Not a whole lot of new features … the greens are a little harder since they’ve been re-done. A couple of little differences here and there, but nothing too different.
