The Bear star Ebon Moss-Bachrach explains Carmy and Richie's fight during the season 2 finale. The hit Hulu series returned on June 22, continuing to follow the fine-dining chef, Carmy, who returns home to Chicago to run his late brother's Italian beef sandwich shop.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Moss-Bachrach explained this explosive argument between Carmy and Richie during The Bear season 2 finale. The star explained how it all comes down to Carmy "crossing a line" in his treatment of Claire. Read what he said below:
For me, that fight really comes down to the way that Carmy treats Claire. Richie is a very loyal, caring, loving person. For all of his faults, he cares deeply about people, he has a set of morals, and it feels like Carmy isn’t treating the woman that he loves well. I think he’s crossing a line for Richie and I think there’s a very old school kind of moral code that Carmy has crossed, and it pushes Richie’s buttons and he hits the fucking roof.
The Bear Season 2 Finale: Carmy & Richie's Fight Explained Moss-Bachrach is right on point about the main reason behind Carmy and Richie's explosive argument is his treatment of Claire. Despite his many faults, Richie does care deeply about those around him, especially Carmy and Claire, both of whom he grew up with. Riche takes such issue with Carmy upsetting Claire because of how much he cares for him.
Richie's love for Carmy manifests itself similarly during The Bear season 2 finale. Instead of comforting him after accidentally upsetting Claire, Riche lashes out against Carmy and even compares his obsessive and maniacal behavior to that of his mother Donna. Carmy and Richie's bitter argument may have burnt a bridge for the time being, but their complex relationship will surely continue into The Bear season 3.
