Game companies often promise so much but fall so short of their potential, saving themselves with post-release fixes–whether it’s a massive patch (hello,, but nine months after it dropped, we now have the Nitro Deck +: the “all-new and improved professional handheld deck” for the Nintendo Switch . Why? Once you get to grips with it, and in the context of CRKD ’s obvious aspirations, it kinda makes sense.

The most obvious difference is with the analog stick, which are now symmetrical. The change was led by user feedback to offer “enhanced comfort.” At the very least, they look and feel more premium, adding small dots for grip. Still, perhaps that’s the point. The Sidekicks don’t get in the way, so there’s no chance you’ll accidentally press them; it’s a quirky choice, but understandable, given the Nintendo Switch’s more casual audience. You can easily think of useful options forFinally, the whole package comes with a microfiber bag–a nice free addition, though more for dust than protection.
