The trailer for Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 confirms that the popular crime drama series is returning to Paramount+.
The ten-episode second installment will premiere on Thursday, June 6, exclusively on Paramount+, with two new episodes. From there, subsequent new episodes will be released on Thursdays.The new season picks up with the elite group of profilers investigating the deadly mystery of what’s known as Gold Star.
The cast of Criminal Minds includes Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Zach Gilford, Ryan-James Hatanaka with Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster. Desperate Housewives actress Felicity Huffman has been previously announced to guest star. She’ll play Dr. Jill Gideon, a biological psychiatrist who was the ex-wife of the late Jason Gideon. Played by Mandy Patinkin, Jason Gideon appeared in the first three seasons of the original Criminal Minds.
The series is produced by ABC Signature and CBS Studios. Erica Messer serves as showrunner and executive producer, with Breen Frazier, Chris Barbour, Glenn Kershaw and Mark Gordon also executive producing. The Paramount+ original series, Criminal Minds: Evolution, debuted in 2022. It’s currently available to stream on the service.
