Cleveland police and fire crews are surrounding St. Theodosius Orthodox Cathedral, the historic Tremont church that was ‘greatly damaged’ by fire on Tuesday.
Historic Tremont church ‘greatly damaged’ by fireOut of an abundance of caution for community safety, the portion of Starkweather Avenue by the church was shut down at 11:10 a.m. on Friday.
The City was notified earlier today by one of the members of the church that one of the steeples appeared to be swaying in the wind. The Cleveland Division of Fire and Department of Building & Housing responded immediately to assess the situation. Out of an abundance of caution, the church was evacuated as well as some adjacent properties.
