The A38 has been partially closed
has asked motorists to use different routes and allow extra time for journeys. In a Twitter post, Derbyshire Police said: "The A38 northbound, between Coxbench and Ripley, is currently closed following a collision. Drivers are asked to use alternative routes and leave extra time for journeys."
Traffic monitoring site Inrix posted an update on the crash, stating the road was closed at 6.45pm. It added: "A38 Northbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident between B6179 Derby Road and A610 ." Google Traffic is indicating that motorists travelling northbound along the busy route are facing long delays on approach to the closure this evening. Officers are diverting affected traffic onto the B6179 Derby Road.
