Council tax, homeless families and leisure centre finance under spotlight in Rossendale

Council tax rises, families needing homes and leisure centre finance risks are among the topics being looked-at by Rossendale councillors this week.

Some of the capital funding comes from government Levelling-Up or UK Shared Prosperity schemes or from the National Heritage Lottery. The council performance report states: “A number of factors that have impacted the number of households in temporary accommodation. There is a lack of availability in the private-rented and social-rented sectors, as well properties in the private-rented sector being out-of-the reach of the majority of households we work with, due to the rents being above local housing allowance rates.

PLANNING APPLICATIONS, WASTE COLLECTIONS Red-flagged activities include planning decisions, called determinations, on minor applications within eight weeks. Council staff sickness is another red area. Most recent sickness is linked to flu, colds and infections.
