The pattern shifts a bit on Saturday and clouds go on the increase.

While it's too early to tell exactly how thick cloud cover will be around 1:33 p.m. CT, when the window of totality is set to begin in the Hill Country areas providing prime eclipse viewing, the KENS 5 seven-day forecast shows the region could see some overcast weather on Monday.

Not only that, but as of now Monday is expected to bring a 40% chance of showers to the San Antonio area after plenty of expected sunshine this week. Clouds will begin to thicken over the weekend, with rain chances starting on Monday. Currently we also have chance of severe weather with a level 2 out of 5 for Monday with damaging winds and hail being the main hazards. But all is not lost.

Now depending on the type of cloud coverage we get Monday could have an impact on how visible we will see the eclipse. If we get more high clouds the shape of the sun is still visible. But, if we get low cloud coverage with high clouds more our view could be blocked. Now even if the sky is cloudy viewers will still experience darkness since the sun in totality will be 100% covered. It will still be an amazing experience.
