He suffered significant burns in the Saturday afternoon fire in Lancaster Township, which also killed a dog and cat.
Charles Knicely, 59, was pronounced dead at 6:54 p.m. Saturday at his home on the 600 block of Wyncroft Lane in Lancaster Township, where a fire had broken out hours earlier, according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.
Knicely suffered significant burns, the coroner’s office said. His cause and manner of death are pending additional investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled. The Lancaster Township Fire Department said the majority of the flames were knocked down by 5 p.m. but continued to smolder for another hour. Units remained on the scene until 9 p.m. The fire was first reported around 4:39 p.m.
A dog and a cat also died in the fire.
