Jaron J. Li, of Mechanicsburg, was fatally hit around 7:53 p.m. while crossing the 6300 block of the Carlisle Pike in Hampden Township with two friends, according to Cumberland County Coroner Charley Hall. The boys were trying to cross the Carlisle Pike from the north to the south when Li was hit, Hall said. The vehicle that hit Li was traveling east on the Carlisle Pike, according to the coroner’s office.Li was taken to Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital, where he died. Hall said his death was ruled accidental as a result of multiple traumatic injuries.“Our heartfelt condolences are with the student’s family and friends during this very difficult time,” the district said in an email to parents.
Hampden Township and Silver Spring Township police are still investigating. Police said the driver has been fully cooperative with the investigation.READ MORE:
