12-year-old Kain Heiland was found dead from a shooting at a Red Lion home on Saturday.
The York County Coroner’s Office has identified 12-year-old Kain Heiland as the victim who died in a shooting this weekend.
Heiland was found dead in the first block of First Avenue in Red Lion, just before 10 p.m. Saturday, according to the coroner’s office. Few details were released because state police is the lead on the shooting investigation, the coroner’s office said. An autopsy found that Heiland died from a gunshot wound to the upper back/chest, and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the coroner’s office.
The York County Coroner noted that the homicide determination meant that Heiland died at the hands of another, but was not a commentary about criminal actions related to the shooting.
