Columbus City Council Monday night approved nearly $9 million in grant money to dozens of community groups for summer programs to keep kids off the streets and away from violence.
"Once they are here, they find people who find them interesting, valuable as human beings, and that does a lot to mitigate any kind of bad behavior," said Casto. The city spent over $20 million this summer for summer youth programs. $11 million is being allocated for city-sponsored youth programs.
