Colleyville police said officers from the Bedford and Dallas police departments pursued the suspect into their city.
A standoff is over after law enforcement officials from multiple cities surrounded an armed suspect in Colleyville.The Dallas Police Fugitive Unit was surveilling a possible aggravated robbery suspect as a part of an investigation and contacted Bedford Police for help with a traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle, according to Colleyville Police.The suspect drove off when Bedford Police tried to pull him over and ended up in a cul de sac on Brentwood Court in Colleyville around 10:31 a.m.
While police were in a standoff with the suspect, multiple SWAT teams, negotiators, drone operators and more law enforcement were brought to the area.Residents were told to stay inside their homes and lock their doors.Colleyville police say after about 3 hours of negotiations, law enforcement used "distraction devices" in an attempt to end the standoff.Media in the area reported hearing several bangs around 2:20 p.m.
