Texas Department of Transportation is putting in steel beams for the first flyover ramp at the Northwest Side interchange.
Motorists will be facing another round of traffic jams this weekend if they’re heading through the Loop 1604 and Interstate 10 interchange on the Northwest Side . Texas Department of Transportation said its crews installed another six steel beams last weekend, for a total of 15 of the 20 beams planned for this phase of the Loop 1604 North Expansion project. The crews are using 800-ton cranes to lift the steel beams in place above the highway, TxDOT said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter .

Loop 1604 detour details If you need to travel through the interchange, here are the detour details for this weekend’s closure : Those going east on I-10 and heading to eastbound Loop 1604 will drive past the interchange and get off I-10 at Exit 557 and enter the eastbound I-10 frontage road.
