77 degrees in Cleveland on Nov. 5 is a new record high! We'll take it.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland beat a record Saturday afternoon, hitting a high of 77 degrees at 2 p.m. at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service confirmed.
The last time Cleveland hit a record on this day was in 2015 when temperatures reached up to 76 degrees at the airport, Meteorologist Zach Sefcovic said. But more than 5,000 FirstEnergy residents were without power around 4:15 p.m. with the majority of the outages in Lakewood, Cleveland, Euclid and Berea.
“It was looking like today would be fairly warm, above normal type of day,” Sefcovic said. “Several of our area climate sites even beyond the Cleveland area have record temperatures for today or near record temperatures for today.”Sunday will drop about 10 degrees and stay around the upper 60s, Sefcovic said.
“We’ll continue to cool down into Monday. We’ll probably drop another 10 degrees or so across the area and have a mix of 50s and lower 60s.”If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
