The city of San Antonio will soon begin paving lower Broadway; it is the last major milestone for a four-year construction project
San Antonio is preparing to lay the final paving on lower Broadway Street in downtown, wrapping up a four-year project that has proved disruptive to small businesses on the historical thoroughfare. As early as Monday, the city will begin paving in three- or four-block segments starting at the project's north end, where the street passes under Interstate 35 , on toward the southern end, at the crossing with Houston Street , according to the city.
City, SAWS play blame game over road project delays The paving should be done by the middle of October, weather permitting, according to the city. The street will then need to be striped, and more work will remain to be done on the sidewalks, landscaping and traffic signals.
