SAN ANTONIO - We’re looking at big changes to the city charter on the ballot, including city council salary and term limits, to the salary cap and term limit for city manager.

The charter amendments consist of six propositions which are now in the hands of voters. Darian Trotter is keeping a close eye on things. The propositions can be confusing for even the most informed voters. That’s why in earlier reports we’ve given viewers a break-down of each of the six propositions.Prop A: Calls for further allocation of funds for the ethics review board and an expansion of the board’s authority.

Prop B: Would update language in the city charter to a more modern standard including adding gender neutral language.Prop D: Would allow city staffers to participate in political activity without retribution.Prop F: Would restructure term limits for both city council and the mayor to two four-year terms instead of the current four two-year terms.

Several of the props have generated a lot of discussion from both supporters and opponents especially those involving term limits and pay raises.
