The day was filled with several nail biters as titles came down to the last minute

Legends player Blake Johnson single-handedly tried to keep his club in the game with a very strong Rockets team, but the Rockets were just too good in the 11 and 12-year-old boys city title game. The curtain came down on the 2023 youth basketball season Saturday or as insiders called it,"The Tornado Season."

Without question, she's arguably the best female player on the hardwood floor. But she struggles with her free-throw shooting. Should she ever iron that out, she'll be twice as good. She knows she needs to improve in that department because she aggressively drives to the hoop, routinely resulting in a whistle.

One of two free-throw attempts by Alejandra Perez with 2:10 left in the second overtime proved to be the difference. She forced the overtime session with another point from the foul line in the final moments of regulation. Alvarez, a Super Swish free-throw champion last month, used his six-foot, if not taller height, to score some easy buckets thanks to crisp passing from teammates on the fast break. He scored seven points in the fourth period and on four of the points, Rivera collected the assist. Rivera earned a third assist on a Quinones bucket to start the final three minutes of the second period when the score began to get out of reach.

The game was deadlocked at 16-16 when Major Anderson hit a pair of free-throw attempts with only 1:15 remaining in the game that proved to be the difference.
