Christie pounced on Rubio for repeating “the memorized 25-second speech followed by the memorized 30-second speech where you say America is great.”“You just did it again,” said Christie, smiling like a cat that killed a whole pet store full of canaries.As for Christie, he had positioned himself as the tough-talking Jersey guy who could take on the brash New Yorker. But he dropped out after a sixth-place finish in New Hampshire.That makes him the guy who can take down Trump.
Christie would be a long-shot candidate to win the nomination. But the first step would the debates. And that’s not a long shot at all for Christie. That debate should have been a gimme for Trump. All he had to do was let Biden talk until he uttered some of his trademark malapropisms.
