The Chinese-developed and built MG 4 claimed the sub-€35,000 segment trophy in the awards, which covered new models launched in Germany in the last 12 months. Voted on by 38 German and selected international automotive journalists, the award came after a three-day, all-comers test near Frankfurt, with category winners announced in southern Germany.... [+]It was the first major title taken by a Chinese carmaker in the award’s history, marking a turning point in European public and industry acceptance of the burgeoning Asian powerhouse.
To back up the Asian push, the Kia EV9 claimed the GCOTY Luxury award, while the Hyundai Ioniq 6 took out the New Energy segment title....
