Some people in Shanghai were allowed to step out of their homes and shop for groceries for the first time in nearly two months as the city reported zero Covid-19 cases outside designated quarantine zones.

Chinese authorities have eased Covid-19 testing requirements for travelers flying from the U.S. and a few other countries as China seeks to restore normalcy after its economy was hit by pandemic restrictions, while its financial hub Shanghai recovers from its worst-ever outbreak since the start of the pandemic.... [+]on Friday that says American travelers will no longer need to take an antibody test or an RT-PCR test seven days before their flights.

Travelers are still required to take two separate RT-PCR tests—taken 48 hours and 24 hours before the flight—along with another antigen test taken before boarding. People with prior infections will still be required to undergo quarantine for six weeks before proceeding with the other testing procedures.
