The 18-year-old's name and mug shot have not yet been released. They said the suspect was 17-years-old when he allegedly violently attacked Dakotah Earley.Earley was shot in May 2022 when he was walking near Wayne and Webster avenues. He was ambushed by robbers and shot three times, including in the head.
The 24-year-old culinary school graduate spent weeks fighting for his life, undergoing numerous surgeries and lost part of his leg.in the attack, along with four other armed robberies on the North Side. Joy Dobbs. Earley's mother said in a statement, "It is with mixed emotions that we hear of the arrest of the second person in the shooting of Dakotah. We are happy that this individual has been removed from our streets and will be held accountable for his role in the shooting. But it is also very hard for us to relive that day again."
Larry Disparti,attorney for Dakotah Earley, said, "We would like to applaud the rank-and-file police officers and detectives of the Chicago Police Department who have dedicated themselves to this case. Dakotah deserves justice for this terrible tragedy. And justice means that all parties involved should be held responsible.
