Spencer is one of the show's original stars that has been on the firefighter drama since its pilot episode in 2012, and was one of only six remaining from its first season.
Currently, the cast and crew have not yet begun filming the season finale. However, according to Newman, everyone on set has been buzzing with anticipation over the return of Spencer as Casey. "I can tell you that everybody is dying to see Jesse. I am dying to see Jesse," confirmed Newman."It's going to be a very beautiful thing on the set to see that face up here. We're all excited about it. I'm going to cry, I'll tell you that."
