Chicago Cubs Make Trade Deadline With New York Yankees Ahead of Showdown With Cincinnati Reds
CINCINNATI — The Cubs are trading right-handed reliever Mark Leiter Jr. to the Yankees in exchange for infielder Ben Cowles and right-handed reliever Jack Neely. ESPN's Jeff Passan was the first to report the news.

The Reds traded Frankie Montas on Monday and could make another deal ahead of the 6 p.m. deadline on Tuesday night.
