The molasses cookie recipe you need to bookmark for every holiday season.
Delicious! I'm an amateur baker, at best. This recipe was easy to follow and make. I, too, love that I don't have to "prep" the butter ahead of time. I didn't have ground cardamom, so I used grated nutmeg instead. I doubled the recipe to get a nice big batch. This meant I used my 2 baking trays twice, back 2 back. I didn't have parchment paper, so I just used spray vegetable oil on my pans.
This is a lovely cookie - spicy, chewy, crisp sugar on top. I baked for 8 minutes at 370 on parchment paper. Like gingerbread only better.I made these cookies last night, followed a comment that suggested that the oven should be at 350, and tried them. Bake time was fine, although I left a batch in for a little too long and they ended up hard. I'm personally not a big fan of the flavor, I put less cardamom than instructed and it was still overpowering.
