“People are exposed to phthalates daily, increasing their risk of several metabolic diseases,” Dr. Sung Kyun Park said.
Phthalates are known as endocrine-disrupting chemicals because they mimic estrogen. Studies have shown they can negatively affect hormone balance, fertility and child development.
