Santoine Tyreek Johnson stands charged with two counts each of murder and attempted murder related to a mass shooting on Euclid Avenue, but he could be facing even more serious charges, according to testimony Monday.
Sgt. Julius Nettles, a Mobile Police Department homicide detective, said during cross-examination at a preliminary hearing that he does not know if the charges will be upgraded. But he said it is a possibility.
Cheriogotis said the “brazen, daylight” shooting demonstrated an “extreme indifference to the value of life” and justified denying bail. Nettles described a chaotic scene on March 29 at the residence in the 600 block of Euclid Avenue, where the man who lives at the house was cutting hair in a backyard shed that had been converted into a barbershop.
Nettles testified that victims and witnesses reporting seeing two men dressed in ski masks walk up to the shed and demand money
