Two former staff members of Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, Wallis Nader and Aaron Dunn, had their charges dismissed in connection with a bid-rigging case. The original charges stemmed from an indictment alleging that they orchestrated a scheme to award a multi-million dollar contract to a company with close ties to Democratic political campaigns.

Two former staff members of Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo have had their charges dismissed in connection to a high-profile bid-rigging case. Wallis Nader and Aaron Dunn were originally charged with felony tampering with government documents and misuse of official information. In 2022, Nader, Dunn, and at the time, Hidalgo's chief of staff, Alex Triantaphyliss, were named in a felony criminal indictment.

They were accused of orchestrating a bid-rigging scheme to secure a multi-million dollar contract for a little-known, one-woman firm with limited resources but extensive ties to Democratic political campaigns. This indictment followed the controversial awarding of an $11 million Harris County COVID-19 contract to 'Elevate Strategies LLC', a company that at the time had only been in existence for two years and operated out of a residential apartment complex in Montrose.Public pressure led to the quick cancellation of the contract by Hidalgo and the court. Triantaphyliss is scheduled to appear in court on February 6th
