Hoormazd Javidbakht died Friday from injuries he suffered on March 14 when he was struck by an SUV as he was crossing the street in Powell on March 14. The 17-year-old was a junior at Olentangy Liberty High School, where he was a member of the track and cross country teams and performed in the school's choir, according to a statement from the district.
Last week, Cooper Nofal, a junior at Westerville North High School, died in a minibike accident, according to a statement from the school.Both schools indicated in their statements that grief counselors would be available this week to help students cope with their classmates' deaths.
