Central Dauphin girls volleyball sweeps Manheim Township, earn a trip to the District 3 4A finals.
The No. 2 Rams have advanced to the District 3 4A championship game for the first time in program history after a 3-0 sweep of No. 6 Manheim Township. The Rams have been on a tear in 2024, amassing a 12-3 regular season record and earning the second seed in the District 3 4A tournament. Their dominance hasn’t ended in the playoff, as the Rams have yet to drop a set so far.
Manheim Township played well defensively in Saturday’s victory against Chambersburg. The Blue Streaks failed to replicate that same performance Tuesday night. Manheim Twp. looked slower to balls and struggled with serve-receive throughout the game. Von Neida and Hanks starred for the Rams on the defensive end. The two played well off each other, recording multiple saves each in a back-and-forth rally in the second set.
Manheim Township will visit No. 5 Dallastown in the District 3 4A third place match Thursday, Oct. 31.Here’s Amber Hanks and Olivia Von Neida on their defensive performance and how it feels to play in the District 3 4A championship.“It’s really exciting. It’s been a long time coming for this group. Most of them have been contributing on varsity since they were sophomores. They’ve been putting in a lot of work to get to this point.”Thanks for visiting PennLive.
