Cedar Point will have to pay $50,000 after a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission found the amusement park discriminated against employees over the age of 40.
During the amusement park's 2021 and 2022 seasons, their owner implemented a policy that didn't allow employees over 30, other than entertainers, to live in employee housing. The lawsuit stated the policy was a violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, which prohibits the denial of equal terms, conditions, and/or privileges of employment based on an individual’s age.
