Cars may have been 'driving in convoy' prior to M65 crash as police issue appeal update
The incident took place on the eastbound carriageway between junction 11 and junction 12 at around 2.45pm on Monday, January 16. The crash involved a white Vauxhall Corsa was in collision with a white Kia Rio.
The driver of the Kia suffered injuries as a result of the collision. Lancashire Police are containing to investigated the incident.Officers say that dashcam footage submitted by a witness appears to show the white Vauxhall Corsa may have been 'driving in convoy' with a grey Volkswagen Golf immediately prior to the collision.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "Around 2.45pm on the 16th of January, a road traffic collision occurred on the M65 eastbound carriageway between J11 and J12 . A white Vauxhall Corsa was in collision with a white Kia Rio, which resulted in injuries to the driver of the Kia. "Subsequent analysis of dashcam footage submitted by a witness shows that the white Vauxhall Corsa may have been driving in convoy with a grey Volkswagen Golf immediately prior to the collision. If you saw these vehicles driving in convoy around this time, we would like to hear from you."
