Sony Pictures Classics has announced that the musical drama film Carmen will release on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on July 11.
Directed by Benjamin Millepied in his feature directorial debut, Carmen originally premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022. The film. It follows Carmen , a young woman from Mexico who is forced to flee to the United States. Her story soon becomes intertwined with that of Aidan , a volunteer border guard and Marine suffering from PTSD. The two go on the run together in an effort to reach Los Angeles.
Carmen survives a terrifying and dangerous illegal border crossing into the US, only to be confronted by a lawless volunteer border guard, who cold-bloodedly murders two other immigrants in her group. When the border guard and his patrol partner, Aidan —a Marine with PTSD—become embroiled in a deadly standoff, Carmen and Aidan are forced to escape together.
